When to use this
  • Pulling a single invoice out of a large scanned batch to send separately
  • Sharing just one chapter of a report instead of the whole document
  • Separating a signature page from a contract for standalone signing
  • Breaking a scanned book into individual page files for archiving

Free and private. Everything runs on your own device, with no account and no uploads.

PDF Split breaks a large PDF into individual pages or custom page ranges, which is handy when you only need to send one chapter of a report, extract a single invoice from a scanned batch, or share just a signature page instead of the entire contract. Everything is processed locally, so sensitive documents like tax records or legal filings never touch a remote server. The tool works directly on the file you upload and lets you preview pages before deciding how to split them.

Yes, you can enter specific ranges like 1-3 or 7,9,12 to extract exactly the pages you need.

By default each page becomes its own PDF, but you can group ranges together into fewer output files.

Internal links that point outside the extracted page range will no longer resolve, since those target pages are removed.

Yes, splitting works on any valid PDF regardless of whether the pages contain scanned images or selectable text.

Very large PDFs are limited mainly by your device memory and browser, so extremely large scanned files may take longer to process.

Pro tips
  • ·Preview the page thumbnails before splitting to make sure your ranges line up with the content you expect.
  • ·Use custom ranges like 1-3,7,10-12 instead of splitting every page individually when you only need a few sections.
  • ·Remember that internal links pointing outside the extracted range will stop working in the split files.
