Writers polishing an essay, students hitting a word count target, and marketers trimming a meta description all need a fast way to see how long a piece of text really is. This tool tallies words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences and paragraphs as you type, and adds estimated reading time plus basic readability stats so you know if your writing is easy to follow. Everything is calculated locally in your browser, so drafts never leave your device.
It uses a whitespace-based word split similar to most word processors, so counts should closely match Word or Google Docs, though edge cases like hyphenated words or numbers can vary slightly between tools.
It gives a rough estimate of how easy the text is to read based on sentence length and word complexity, useful as a general guide rather than an exact grade level.
