Fonts come in desktop formats, TrueType (TTF) and OpenType (OTF), and web formats: WOFF and WOFF2, which are the same font tables compressed for faster downloads. Web developers need WOFF2 to self-host fonts; designers who download a web font need TTF or OTF to install it. This converter moves between all four in your browser, and the conversion is lossless: every glyph, kerning pair, hinting instruction and name table comes out exactly as it went in.

Fonts with PostScript (CFF) outlines are OpenType files and carry the .otf extension; fonts with TrueType outlines get .ttf. The converter names the output after what the font actually contains.

No. The font tables are byte-for-byte identical after conversion; only the container and compression change.

Typically 30–50% smaller than TTF, and 20–30% smaller than WOFF, thanks to Brotli compression and glyph-table transforms.

Not yet: a collection holds several fonts in one file. Extract the one you need with a font editor such as FontForge first.

Conversion is technically lossless, but font licences often restrict web embedding or redistribution. Check the licence of commercial fonts before self-hosting them.
